Steve Cambrice, LMFT, Internal Family Systems: Utilizing a cultural lens

By locating the source of healing with the client Internal Family Systems (IFS) frees the therapist to focus on guiding the client’s access to their true Self and supporting them in harnessing their wisdom. This approach makes IFS a non-pathologizing, hopeful framework within which to practice psychotherapy. It provides an alternative understanding of psychic functioning and healing that allows for innovative techniques in relieving client’s symptoms and suffering. This presentation will demonstrate effective use of IFS as a tool to embrace client’s cultural identity.
