Save the date: From Race to Culture in the Supervision of Therapeutic practice

September 18 @ 1:00 pm - October 16 @ 1:00 pm

From Race to Culture in the Supervision of Therapeutic Practice engages participants in
a process of cultural self-discovery in service to their ability to mentor and support their
future supervisees in a similar process. This workshop will address contextual factors
of race, ethnicity, and culture and will consider dynamics of power and privilege that
impact the therapeutic and supervisory relationship. The workshop will be both didactic
and interactional in nature. We expect there will be lively and informative discussions.
This workshop is largely experiential with some didactic sharing of cultural concepts,
processes, and language. The emphasis is on “self-study” from a cultural lens. The
therapist and/or clinical supervisor is guided through the “cultural self-study” process in
preparation for their facilitation of similar processes with their supervisees.
