Title: Going deeper to grow stronger: Exploring the Racial and Cultural impact on Identity
Kente Circles is in its 20th season of serving the community. Many of you have been on this journey with us by attending trainings, workshops, conferences, supervision and therapy. In all of these relationships, we continue to notice that many of you have a desire to go deeper.
This two day gathering aims to delve deeper into our individual narratives, fostering a richer understanding of our racial and cultural identities. Our intention is to create a discourse that will support participant’s journey to liberate ourselves from historical narratives that may have shaped our unhealthy perceptions of ourselves and our relationships with others. It is our hope to use our container that has been developed in community with past conference attendees to offer a safe space to help participants foster a deeper connection with their own identity.
Our presenters will offer a space for personal growth and collective healing. We anticipate that participants will be personally challenged and validated as we: Engage in experiential exercises designed to prompt reflection and dialogue, Explore the integration of mind and body, acknowledging the profound impact on our understanding of self, and Incorporate mindfulness techniques to enhance self-awareness and promote a sense of inner peace.
Objectives:
Training Prerequisite: Participants will have attended a past KCTI training. This workshop is designed to expand on learning that occurred in previous KCTI trainings and workshops
