Title: The potential for greatness: The power of our dreams and the influence of our human spirit
Description: The famous African American track star, Wilma Rudolph, once said: “Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us.” We is will focus on posttraumatic growth by highlighting the fact that we are greater than our fears and experiences. Additionally we will explore ways to constructively build upon our shared losses as well as our gains. Finally, this presentation will explore strategies of how power can be shared between providers, families, educators, students, and parents by developing culturally responsive, trauma informed community-based collaborations that support the holistic wellness of African Diaspora communities.
