SUMMARY:Fall Conference 2024
DESCRIPTION: Date: October 17 & 18\, 2024\n Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM\n Location: St. Paul Event Center \nTitle: Going Deeper to Grow Stronger: Exploring the Racial and Cultural Impact on Identity \nJoin us as Kente Circles celebrates its 20th season of community service. Over the years\, many of you have participated in our trainings\, workshops\, conferences\, supervision\, and therapy. Throughout this journey\, we have observed a common desire among participants: the need to go deeper. \nThis two-day conference invites you to delve into your personal narratives\, deepening your understanding of your racial and cultural identity. Our goal is to create a safe space where we can collectively explore and liberate ourselves from historical narratives that may have influenced our self-perception and our relationships with others. Drawing from the foundation we’ve built with past conference attendees\, we aim to foster a deeper connection with your own identity. \nConference Highlights: \n\nExperiential Exercises: Engage in activities designed to prompt reflection and meaningful dialogue.\nMind-Body Integration: Explore the connection between mind and body and its impact on self-understanding.\nMindfulness Techniques: Learn methods to enhance self-awareness and promote inner peace.\n\nObjectives: \n\nExplore Depth: Understand what going deeper looks like for each of us.\nIdentity Liberation: Identify parts of your identity yearning to be freed.\nBreaking Free: Recognize your walls of protection and learn how to break through them.\nPower & Race: Evaluate how we relinquish power to race and racist practices.\n\nWe look forward to this powerful gathering of personal growth and collective healing. Save the date\, and prepare to be both challenged and validated in a journey towards deeper self-awareness and liberation. \n  \nSpeaker Bios \nDr. Kenneth V.
